Join the Edmonton Chamber Music Society for their Summer Solstice Music Festival from June 17-22.
ECMS is welcoming the summer sun with outstanding chamber music from world class musicians.
These performances will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church, 10014 81 Avenue NW.

Main Concert with the Tesla Quartet
The program explores the expressive range of the string quartet across three centuries. The program opens with Haydn’s witty “Joke” Quartet, full of charm and clever surprises. Next is Polish composer Grazyna Bacewicz’s bold and dynamic String Quartet No. 3, a striking example of mid-20th-century modernism. The concert concludes with Ravel’s lush and vibrant String Quartet in F Major, a masterpiece of impressionistic colour and rhythmic drive.
The Tesla Quartet is known the world over for their “superb capacity to find the inner heart of everything they play, regardless of era, style, or technical demand” (The International Review of Music). From cutting edge contemporary works to established masterpieces, the Tesla Quartet’s emotive and thoughtful interpretations reveal the ensemble’s deep commitment to the craft and to their ever expanding repertoire. The quartet recognizes the power of their platform to amplify underrepresented voices and to encourage the proliferation of an equitable and just future for society as well as a hospitable climate for posterity.
