Join ELOPE Musical Theatre for their presentation of RENT! from May 3-11 at the Westbury Theatre, Fringe Theatre Arts Barns, 10330 84 Avenue NW.

ELOPE Musical Theatre is a not-for-profit society who have been producing musical theatre in Edmonton for over 40 years. They welcome all individuals who are passionate about musical theatre, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or ability.
Join ELOPE for one of Broadway's most popular and powerful shows! Loosely based on Puccini's La Boheme, RENT! tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan's East Village. The production is set during the thriving days of the bohemian culture of Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
The musical was first seen in a workshop production at New York Theatre Workshop in 1993. Music, lyrics and book were all written by Jonathan Larson.

Production Warning: R-Rated Please be advised this production contains adult language, sexuality, drug addiction, homelessness and highlights the HIV/AIDS epidemic as it existed in America during the late 1980s and early 90s. The presentation and discussion of sexual content, marginalized members of our community, and the struggles society faced during the HIV/AIDS epidemic may be difficult and traumatic to experience. Viewer discretion is advised.
